Calling all Cocker Spaniel Lovers. Have room in your heart and your home for twice the love?
Meet Vinnie and Charlie!
This pure bred cocker brother duo is 6 years old and ready for their new family.
Both dogs are from the same litter and have spent their whole lives together and they’d like to keep it that way. They sleep in beds next to each other at night and enjoy each others company by day (except when there is only one bone or rawhide available…then, just like brothers, they can fight.) They don’t need huge amounts of exercise but they do like to get out of the house for a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood or some playtime in the yard. They’re used to having a dog door and going out when they need to (unless it’s raining, in which case they may need some “help” getting out). They’re wonderful with kids and like to lick faces when eye level with little humans, which makes them pretty popular with kids. They’ve lived with small children and would be fine in a home with children or without.
Charlie is the mischievous brother. He’s curious and always the first to run up to anyone, wagging his tail and angling for a pet. If you do decide to pet him, he’s not shy about flipping over for a belly rub. Charlie loves to chase squirrels, enjoys sneaking human food and is the first to get into trouble. He has a higher pitch bark and if you close the door behind him, he will let you know by barking. When he was a puppy, he was the runt of the litter. He was originally named “XX” because he was so small. He’s now 32lbs. Charlie has a way of giving you the puppy dog eyes that melt your heart and make you hand over your meal – see above, maybe not “sneaking”.
Vinnie is the bigger brother and noticeably larger. He’s more of the “less talk, more action” temperament as long as the “action” is food or affection. He likes to sleep and eat and not be bothered too much by his more mischievous brother. Vinnie also enjoys a good cuddle session. He has a deeper bark and typically wont even bark, unlike his brother who will let you know right away if he’s been outside too long. If he could be any Disney Character, Vinnie would be Eyore from Winnie the Pooh. He has lost some weight recently, but he’s just a much bigger guy than his brother; we think he enjoys life too much to worry about his figure. He’s fine watching his brother get into trouble while he just rests in his bed dreaming of something savory to eat. Vinnie has had a few episodes of a seizure in his lifetime that last for a few seconds. Maybe 5 times in total. He gets a little stressed when it happens but soon calms down. We’re not clear on what brings them on. Lately he has favored his front legs. He had a little sprain a few weeks ago and is recovering quickly.
