You know how grandpas can be so special and kind and thoughtful and funny, and how grandpas can be the ones that go on little adventures with you and tell you stories and give you support? How they believe in you and carry you through rough times? And sometimes-even when your grandpa gets a little blind they he sees everything with so much love? And that he is still your favorite – and you want to take extra sweet care of him to make sure he feels safe?
Well. That’s Wilson.
He is all of the things that make your grandpa your favorite.
Wilson, a beautiful shepherd-hound mix, was one of three dogs left behind when his owner passed away. He’s 11 years old and almost blind. But all of the things that really matter…his hound-dog heart, his sweet soul, his incredibly gorgeous loving spirit still radiate through.
Due to his limited vision (understandably), a lot of change or unknowns might prove hard, so apartment living would not really work for him, meaning he needs a quiet home in a quiet neighborhood with not a lot going on in terms of people and traffic.
Wilson really loves his routine and all that encompasses that: his family, his bed, his sunny yard, snacks and not too many stairs. (A couple are okay, he will learn them.)
We think he would do well as a second dog, as long as the first dog is calm, respectful, and senior-savvy.
🌼 all in all.. he’s just a pretty sweet and pretty chill guy🌼
We’d love for you to meet! Full out an application and a volunteer will contact you. (PB/DA)
