Yoshi is a loving 7-year-old Shepherd mix who weighs about 45 pounds! He loves pets and, although he likes treats, he is primarily a praise-motivated learner. He is shy at first but, once he gets to know and trust you, which doesn’t take long, he will walk up to you for pets and cuddles. Yoshi’s foster mom says the quirkiest part of his personality is that he loves staring out the window during the day, watching the world pass by.
Yoshi is a fast learner and, since he’s been in his foster home, he’s learned sit, shake, down, up, and is housebroken. He is a low energy dog and doesn’t need constant activity and doesn’t chew up things! Yoshi has done very well with the his canine foster sibling.
Yoshi loves being outdoors and would be happiest with multiple long walks every day. His tail perks up and wags every time he goes outside! And, because of his love of being outdoors, he needs to be on leash before opening the door or when guests come in — as he might decide to take himself for a walk!!
Among Yoshi’s endearing qualities is that he responds so well to affection and it’s easy to encourage him with pets or a simple, “good job! He is relatively easy to groom and seems happy to be brushed, bathed and he even allows his teeth to be brushed! He shows affection and will walk up and put his head in your lap asking for pets, which is adorable.
Yoshi would make a wonderful, mellow addition to your family! If you’re interested in meeting him, please submit an application and his advocate will be in touch! (HD)
