Meet Ziva, a 60 pound Australian Cattle Dog with a heart of gold. At 6 years old, Ziva is a mellow girl who loves to relax and explore with her people – despite her breed, marathons are just not her thing. (That being said, Ziva will still need daily exercise to keep her healthy and happy!)
Ziva is truly a warrior; she arrived at Rocket Dog shortly after being attacked and injured by another large dog. Ziva’s road to recovery involved several emergency vet visits, many painful bandage changes, some french fry bribes, and the emotional support of her canine foster brother. With the care and dedication of an amazing foster and the Rocket Dog team, Ziva has made a full, beautiful recovery! Despite her scary experience, Ziva has been great meeting new dogs and loves snuggling up with her foster brother. Her gentle demeanor made wound care a breeze and throughout her healing process, this girl only wanted to love and be loved by those around her. (She has not been cat-tested, but her foster siblings are both small fluffy dogs and as you can see by the photos, things are going well.)
With her humans, Ziva is extremely sweet and loyal. Eager to please and a huge fan of belly rubs, Ziva will gently place her paw on your lap to request head rubs or just a simple touch. She goes on walks with her foster’s 13-year-old niece, is a phenomenal co-pilot on car rides, and has had free roam of the house when left alone with no accidents and no signs of separation anxiety. While she can be shy with new people or dogs, with some reassurance and a little time she warms up quickly.
