We can’t express enough how thankful Franco and I are for having the opportunity to adopt Honey. It became apparent that ‘Honey’ came with emotional scars. Caring for ‘Honey’ would be a tremendous challenge, but we were both convinced that a loving and nuturing home and her strong spirit would help heal her painful past.
When we first brought her home, Honey was frightened and unsure about her surroundings. For days she would spend most of her time hiding curled up behind our couch. She refused to come come out to eat. Not only would she retreat to her safe place any chance she got, but she would also have a difficult time walking over tiled or wood flooring. Often times we would carry her to one room to the other to ease her fears. We knew we had to take baby steps with her.
Two years have passed and each day has been a blessing in our lives. Looking back we can clearly see how much her personality has blossomed. ‘Honey’ loves the outdoors. She enjoys hiking, camping, swimming, visits to the Dog Park and hanging out with family members. Squirrels also keep her quite entertained.
With patience, trust and love on all of our parts, we are proud to say we have a happy, healthy, vibrant and lovable addition to our family. Thank you Rocket Dog Rescue and Pali for rescuing her. She will continue to bring us joy and we can never thank you enough!!!!
Sincerely, Crystal and Franco
