"When I started volunteering at Rocket Dog about two years ago, I expected to learn a lot about dogs. What I didn't expect are all the things I would learn about myself! For example, I'm not afraid of big 'difficult' dogs. In fact, I seem to gravitate to the giant grouchy ones. I've also realized that I have more patience than I thought...and the dogs have taught me that patience is everything! They've also taught me endless lessons in resilience, gratitude, and trust. I've formed some really incredible friendships with fellow volunteers and even some applicants who I have helped through the adoption process. I live about ten minutes from the sanctuary and it has truly become one of my happy places. You can often find me there covered in dogs." Volunteer With Us »
