An amazingly kind Rocket Dog neighbor came to our front door holding the smallest, saddest kitten in the world. The kitten’s eye was horribly infected and looked like a giant green grape. His whole face was crusty. The woman who brought him in said he was walking around the neighborhood and bumping into everything in his path.It was a tough sight to see. But on the way to the hospital, it became clear this was an incredibly strong little kitten. He purred the whole way there. The vets decided it was necessary to remove the infected eye. Now the kitten is well on his way to recovery. We named him Lowly after the one-eyed worm character from Richard Scarry’s childrens books. He is everything a kitten should be — extremely playful, adorably cuddly, and rightfully demanding of attention. Lowly needs a family who can give him the affection he deserves after all the terribleness he’s been through. He is getting along very well with his foster parents’ adult cats. He has not been tested with dogs, but with his rambunctious spirit, he would certainly be up for trying. We estimate him to be 11 weeks old.
