Ripley is kind-hearted, loves cuddles, gives kisses – even when you are sleeping! He has SO much love to give and loves belly rubs and kisses from his humans. Doesn’t like hugs much, but loves to lean into you to show affection.
According to his previous foster, Ripley knows the word “no”, and reacts appropriately. He doesn’t like the TV noises and movements on the screen, backs away to a different part of the house when it is on. Ripley waits very patiently for his paws to be wiped off and leash/harness to be removed when coming indoors.
Ripley is house-trained and easy to walk. He attaches to people very quickly and follows them around the house everywhere. He doesn’t jump on people and likes to cuddle on furniture and beds if you allow.
Ripley is very smart and learns quickly. He mastered “sit” and “down” and is eager to learn more. Ripley loves to go for long walks and hikes. Hoewer, he gets fearful of general life events such as busy street noises, cars driving by, quick movements, and strange objects. He would really rely on his new person to help him overcome some of his challenges and to teach him how to feel safe and confident in real life scenarios.
Ripley would be best suited in an adults only home that has breed experience or willing to do breed research, and without cats. Training should be a part of his new life and his new home should give him adequate opportunities for mental stimulation and lots of exercise.
P.S. The website pictures were taken before his entropion surgery. His eye is healing and should be better in no time.
