Teeny tiny Coco Loco is too cute. She is all of seven pounds and a young dog, between one and two years old, best guess.
Coco loves people of all ages. She has been around adults, elderly folks, and kids. Because of her diminutive size, very young children and toddlers are probably out, though. She loves to cuddle, play fetch, give kisses, and zoom around an enclosed yard like a little rocket! She is not particularly high energy as a rule, but she loves to cut loose! Coco does have a tendency to resource guard her favorite people and high value treats, something to keep an eye out for and discourage. She has done well meeting human strangers and has even learned to walk on a leash since coming to rescue! Now she prances down the street and gets excited to see her harness come out. Coco is house trained and is fine alone in the home when her fosters need to be out and about. Her coat is gorgeous and unbelievably soft, but will require regular brushing and occasional professional grooming. (See her pictures for an incredible glow up!)
We will never know what Coco’s previous life was like, but it seems she was not properly socialized to learn the rules of dog friends. Coco needs to be an only dog in her forever home, but she will repay you with unlimited snuggles and unwavering loyalty. Coco has chased cats when given the chance, though she doesn’t seem to want to hurt them, so a cat-free home would be best.
Coco will make a wonderful companion for the right adopter! If your household fits the bill, please fill out a questionnaire and a volunteer will contact you. (AL)
