Demi is an adorable 6-month-old Malinois puppy, and she currently weighs about 45 lbs. She is very affectionate, smart, and playful, craves attention and is glued to her person’s side when at home. (Our best guess is she will weigh 80+ pounds, though no guarantees.)
Demi gets 3 to 4 walks a day with her foster to get out as much energy as possible while working on training. They play fetch, practice commands, and work on leash training. Demi’s leash manners have improved significantly, but they still need lots more work as with most high energy puppies!! Foster dad says she gets along great with dogs, kids, and people. However, as an energetic puppy, she gets very excited around dogs and can definitely use more training and socialization. She is not reactive, just a typical excitable puppy.
Demi is a little shy with people outside of the home so it’s best to let her approach first and not the other way around. According to foster dad, she has done well with kids, i.e., she doesn’t jump or nip, and is gentle!
She does well in the crate and understands the command to go in the crate and stay there even if you leave the door open. She is a great companion. In her foster home, they practice commands, play games, and then relax. She loves cuddling and will do anything to please you.
Demi is a very sweet dog and will make a great addition to a home with someone with breed experience and willing to dedicate the time and work on training her for long-term success! Like most Malinois, Demi is a high-energy young pup who, ideally, needs at least 2 to 3 hours of exercise throughout the day.
If you interested in meeting Demi, please be sure you meet the following criteria:
— Malinois or similar breed experience
— At least one family member home the majority of the day (being home every 2 hours is crucial during this developmental time)
— An active family or person with the time and energy needed to continue her socialization
Please apply if you are up for a lifelong adventure with Demi.(HD)
