Active, curious, loving, and playful. That is Duke, the beautiful 50 pound Shepard mix, who is between 2 and 3 years old.
Duke is searching for his hiking buddy, as he loves the outdoors and would love to run on the beach with his new family. He walks well on-leash and his foster is working with him on his off-leash manners while hiking and playing on the beach! This handsome boy can be a bit shy with other dogs, but is coming around. Duke is also now house and crate-trained (make sure to give him a toy and blankie for optimal contentment).
Besides, enjoying the outdoors, Duke also LOVES toys (except the squeaky ones) and would love to play tug of war with you, is getting down the finer points of fetch, loves his chew toy, and even plays alone very happily. Duke loves to throw his toys, which is both adorable and funny to watch.
Duke can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but he comes around quickly, especially if you give him a treat (he is very treat-oriented!) He’s done well with the fosters’ children and enjoys being walked by their 11 year-old.
