Medium (25 – 60 lbs) Learn MoreFreddy is a 1 year-old, 47 pound Labrador/Pitbull mix. He is a playful guy and loves to hike, walk, and wrestle with other dogs. Some dogs find his puppy energy overwhelming and will need to remind him to back off. He could live with another dog who enjoys his enthusiastic energy, or as a single dog in the home with some playdate with dogs who match his level. No cats for this canine!
He finds SF city life a little too overwhelming, and will do best in a quieter environment, with positive introductions to people, sounds, and bustle of more urban areas over time. We have learned he is much more comfortable outdoors, and he will require access to a yard in his new home. No apartment living for this guy.
Freddie would do best in an adult only home or with dog savvy children age 14 and up. He still gets a bit mouthy and jumpy when playing and will need to learn some better manners in this area. He’s doing great with his potty training skills in his foster home.
While Freddy is a sweet and attentive guy who loves his person and wants to do what you are doing, he is not an easy dog off-the-bat. He will need someone with dog experience who can handle his zoomies, anxious tendencies, his separation anxiety, and be understanding that he will need some transition time to be comfortable in a new environment. He thrives with a good structure and routine more than a spontaneous lifestyle. The good news is that his foster family have learned a lot about what works for Freddy, and we are committed to setting him up for success in his forever home.
If you are ready to commit to a sweet guy who needs some attention, Freddy would love to meet you! Please submit an application and a volunteer will be in touch shortly (KF).
