Muffin had surgery last week (April 25th) to fix her luxating patellas on her two back legs. It went well! Rocket Dog is looking for a medical foster (or adopter!) so she can heal for the next six weeks. She can take very short walks to relieve herself and as the weeks go by can go on longer and longer walks. While our volunteers are providing care for her at the sanctuary, it is no place for a healing dog. She needs a calm, quiet place to get the rest she needs.
Muffin is a super sweet and energetic “love bomb” who loves a belly rub more than just about anything! She’s a mixed breed who is 10-12 months old and almost full grown at 33 pounds.
Muffin loves to meet new people as well as other dogs, especially dogs that will play with her! She is potty trained and doing great with crate training. She gets a little excited when she spots another dog while out on a walk but otherwise good on a leash. She also loves being rewarded with treats, already knows how to sit, and seems very capable of learning additional commands!
Muffin will be happiest with daily exercise and continued socialization and training. She would do great with another dog in the house to show her the ropes and play, but is not a fan of cats. Households with older children would be a better fit for her than young children that are harder for her to predict.
If you’d like to meet this sweet and friendly girl, fill out a questionnaire and a volunteer will be in touch.
Pets and scratches make me happy!
