Sasha is a smart and playful girl. She is a 10 month-old Shepherd mix puppy, who, unfortunately, was hit by a car a few months ago. In typical dog-fashion, she recovered quickly and bounces around like nothing happened. She is ready for her forever and ever!
Sasha likes to “talk” and will tell you about her day. See here: IMG_7820 for a great example. She is practicing her manners and basic commands at her foster home. She walks well on leash* in that she doesn’t pull or bark at other dogs and is very responsive to her fosters. She’s a good eater and loves treats.
Sasha plays well with other dogs and would do well in a home with other dogs her size and energy level. (She would be fine as a solo dog, too.). She does well in public and sits nicely in restaurants. At 50 pounds and with her energy level, she might be too rambunctious for a home with small children.
Sasha is still a puppy and will need lots of training; we highly recommend puppy and obedience training for our gal. It’s a great way to bond, besides setting her up for success as an adult dog. (Since she’s so treat-motivated, training will be fun and easier, by the way.)
We ask that people applying for Sasha have a more “stay/work at home” lifestyle, at least during the initial phase of her life with you. A resident dog would be helpful, as well.
Let’s set up a meet and greet! Fill out an application and a volunteer will be in touch. (PB/KG)
(* She still gets a bit skittish when walking by a busy street. She’s fine by parked cars or inside of moving cars.)
