Tootsie was found as a stray, so she’s a little wary of the world at first. Who knows what hardships she was dealing with out there? So, she feels the need to bark at strangers and at strange noises. She will require patience and commitment; however, it will be the most rewarding thing you’ll ever do. Tootsie really just wants to love and be loved. She will warm up to you within the first day, and then become your very best friend. She loves cuddling and sitting on your lap. She is extremely food-motivated which means she’s super-trainable. This smart girl already knows how to sit, and is clearly very eager to learn more. Her ideal family will spend lots of time training her. She still has puppy habits (because, duh, she IS a puppy!) like being a little mouthy when she wants to play. Training will also help to build up her confidence and make her more at ease in new situations.
Tootsie is playful and has quite the toy collection! She loves being carried around in her “Baby Bjorn” so she can check out all the sights and smells. She also loves to walk along the beach and dig in the sand, like the terrier she is!
Tootsie gets along with dogs of all sizes, and cats! She’s currently being fostered with a pit bull and two cats, and they all sleep on the bed together. Tootsie’s favorite spot is right in the middle, under the covers. She is a serious snugglebug.
Her perfect adopter will be someone who spends a lot of time at home, since she is a puppy. She’d also love to have a canine sibling(s) but not required. Don’t miss out on this sweet Tootsie pop.
