Please meet Alice Chen, a 1 year-old, Formosan Mountain Dog, who weighs 45 pounds. Rocket Dog found an amazing foster family for her and we think its best to hear all the great things about Alice from them.
“Looking for a slice of perfection? You’re in luck. Meet Alice, a tremendously sweet and smart young dog! Alice is a gem. She is very dog-social and lives in perfect harmony with her Doberman-foster-sister. Did we mention she’s also an incredible hiking buddy? Alice greets other dogs with confidence, ignores others when asked, and zips past joggers and bicyclists without a problem! Alice is a delightfully smart and eager learner, excelling in everything you teach her. She’ll do anything for a cookie (she’s highly food motivated!) and she always wants to learn new things. Alice has quickly learned Sit, Down, Touch, and a FAST and reliable Come! Alice has also tried her paw at learning a formal “Heel” and some basic agility jumps. This rockstar is an exciting sports prospect if you’re looking for your next Rally-Obedience or agility dog! She is also crate trained, house trained, and shows no leash-reactivity. In fact, she’s a remarkably quiet dog. We think she’s versatile enough to do well in any active home, even in apartment- or condo- homes.
Alice is that special somethin’, and it’s hard to let her go! Although Alice is a social butterfly with dogs, she does need time – and food- to familiarize with new people and she prefers to avoid dense crowds. She can mingle with house visitors but prefers to watch the commotion from afar. Alice bonds strongly with her people, though, and is a very resilient pup. Baths? Nail trims? Vet handling? No problem! Alice lets her foster family do it all without complaints. Are you ready to be that special person for a darn near perfect pup? Come meet Alice!”
