Medium (25 – 60 lbs) Learn MoreSweet Bonnie is a 1 yr old, ~47lb Australian red heeler mix. She is curious, shy and submissive, but if you are patient, she will steal your heart. She needs a little time to get comfortable with new people, but while she’s warming up she is just shy, with her head down, and will come to you for pets and scritches.
She hardly ever barks, and is not reactive to people, barriers, or other dogs. She is VERY dog friendly and when a dog (even a new dog) is on the scene, she immediately relaxes, jumping into play bows and zoomies. But she also has high dog EQ (emotional intelligence), if the other dog doesn’t want to play she will back off and do her own thing.
Once Bonnie is comfortable in her new home she will likely exhibit all of the regular characteristics of the breed, including being very active and agile. She requires daily exercise in the form of long walks and hikes. She would thrive in a home with another confident dog, but could also be an only dog with frequent trips to the dog park or friends with dogs for socialization.
Bonnie has been known to chase cats so a cat-free home with be the best fit. We expect her to do well with anyone who is calm and patient in their approach, though she might be a better fit for older kids who are more predictable than toddlers who might come in too fast.
Bonnie is a sweetheart and will make a special someone or family and wonderful companion. Act now to meet her! (LG)
