Etta

When Etta first came to Rocket Dog she was scared and wouldn’t come out to play, but once she started to trust our patient and loving volunteers, her true playful personality came shining through. 

 

Etta is an approximately year and half year-old American Bull Dog mix with the most beautiful silver/black coat – it’s such a pretty color. She has taken to a few of our volunteers and gets super-excited when they come by for pets and walks. She is a bit apprehensive of new people and tends to bark but it’s absolutely a fearful bark that begins to subside once she knows the person is trustworthy – therefore she needs slow intros to your friends until comfortable. 

 

Etta will be your ride or die, always wanting to go for a ride in the car and then a walk where she can smell all the smells and take in the neighborhood. She can pull a little when she senses interest in something but is mostly walking pretty well on her leash. She gets excited to see other dogs and this interest seems playful and curious. We’ve seen her interact with cats and she seems either disinterested or wanting to be playful, but if a cat is in the household we still recommend very slow introductions. While she is energetic, the breed isn’t known for their stamina so she loves a two mile hike but then just wants to lay in the cool grass. 

 

Etta will be a strong and devoted companion, she has the ability to bond quickly to her human and will be your pal for life! Currently, she weighs 58 pounds, but could use a few more-how fun will it be to spoil her with treats when she’s your forever dog?
