Halo is a ~6-month old herding dog mix (we think Australian Kelpie). At about 6 months old, Halo weighs around 25 pounds and will likely fill in at around 50 pounds, though no guarantees.
Halo is a smart, active, social pup who loves people. Since he is a young, intelligent puppy, herder-type dog, Halo will need an adopter who can commit to training and socialization so Halo can become the best adult dog he can be. Halo is a playful dude and loves playing fetch and keeping himself occupied with toys. He would do best in an active home where he can get lots of exercise, both physically and mentally. Canine enrichment is a must with these breed types.
Halo hasn’t been arounds many kids at the Sanctuary, but we think he would do fine with older children who are ok with his playful puppy energy. He has done well with other dogs of all sizes and personality types and loves to play. Halo is not house trained, but while living at our facility has done well learning to use a pee pad to do his business. He has not been cat tested.
