Rocket Dog Rescue has helped with many hoarding cases in the past, therefore, we are so supportive of those rescues and animal advocates who are on the front line of any hoarding situation. The animals are the innocent victims of someone’s disease and often suffer from their own forms of PTSD.
Jeremy came to Rocket Dog Rescue from a house where the “owners” left the premises before law enforcement could evict them. When the deputies arrived at the house, they found a horrific mess….over 40 animals in filthy crates or running loose, with no food or water. Several animals were ill. Animal control and several rescues responded in biohazard gear to the site to help get the poor animals (dogs, cats, chickens) out to safety.
Little Jeremy was one of those dogs who was running loose when rescuers arrived. But this terrier mix didn’t run away… he knew these strangers were not going to hurt him! He was taken to a wonderful foster home where he was treated to his own “spa day”… bathing, tick pulling, nail clipping, and a bowl of clean, cool water! Today Jeremy is slowly gaining weight, hanging out with other dogs, and walking around the neighborhood ON A LEASH. He is about 9 lbs and 3 years-old. He is the most grateful dog we have ever met. This guy is a perfect houseguest: he is quiet and clean, doesn’t shed a lot, and appreciates his meals! He loves to lie in the morning sun, watching TV, and getting a good snuggle from his person.
He gets along with other dogs and probably cats, but that has not been verified.
If you would like to adopt Jeremy, please submit an adoption application online and a volunteer will contact you. (VL)
