Leah is a lovely three year-old pitbull mix who has been dealt a hard life. Found tied to the floorboards of a car (sometimes without food and water for days), she was eventually confiscated by police and placed into a shelter. It was not a picnic as she was attacked by another dog. But once she landed into a foster home, things looked brighter! She attended training at BAD RAP and now knows basic commands, is leash and crate-trained and house-trained. She loves to walk and carry one of her “stuffies” to show off.
Leah loves people of all ages (lived with a 5 yr old granddaughter!) but is dog reactive. She is best as an only dog (Leah will fill your heart and home so you won’t need another dog!). With careful awareness and handling, she can easily maneuver city streets and casual encounters with other dogs who are respectful of her space.
Leah will bring her belongings (crate, bed, toys) to her new home. Leah’s support team will offer training with a professional trainer so she and her new person can acclimate to each other.
So many people have let this girl down in her short life, yet, true to her breed, she is resilient and ready to enjoy hikes and belly rubs with her new people who “get” her.
