Meet Opal, the wonder puppy! At two years old and 50 pounds, she is a gorgeous little love-machine who enjoys cuddling, playing, running, and delighting everyone with her wonderful, sweet and silly personality.
She has a good amount of energy and would thrive in a home that can give her the daily exercise she needs. Like any energetic puppy, if you don’t give her ways to use her energy, she will invent her own. She’s a fantastic running and hiking buddy. She’s already pretty easy to lead on leash but would benefit from learning proper leash manners.
Opal is food-motivated and eager to please humans. She has some basic commands under her belt already and will quickly learn more with your guidance. She’s very easy to train.
She can be a little mouthy (it’s very gentle but obviously not appropriate) when she’s feeling affectionate. She’s learning that people are not into it, but whoever adopts her will have to help her finish learning this.
Opal is a bit of a shadow dog, and loves to follow you around the house to see what you’re up to. She is happiest lying near your feet. While this can be charming, we think she’ll benefit from some training around this so she can feel confident on her own and so she doesn’t develop separation anxiety after shelter in place. She sleeps through the night in her crate, and we think it would be helpful to keep crate training going for the times she will be alone at home.
Opal will do best in a cat-free home.
