Medium (25 – 60 lbs) Learn MoreRanger is an energetic 5 year-old Shepherd mix that is 50 pounds of fun! Ranger is an affectionate goof that loves toys, treats, and cuddle sessions with his people. He has a very calm and mellow energy inside the house–you’ll likely find him snoozing on your feet. Outdoors he’s a happy bouncy boy that will play fetch with a passion. Video proof HERE. He has a high food and toy drive that makes him an excellent candidate for doggie sports like agility, flyball, and maybe even dock diving! He’s got his basic obedience down (sit, down, stay, come, leave it, roll-over, shake) and would love to be your training partner to learn even more. What a smart boy.
Ranger is currently fostered with two huskies and a chihuahua mix! He loves doggy daycare and could easily be a 2nd dog in the home. We don’t think he would get along well with a cat though–sorry, kitty. He is fully house trained, crate trained and right around 5 he’ll fetch his food bowl to remind you it’s time for dinner.
Ranger sometimes thinks it’s his job to be protective of his home and people, and he needs more help with introductions to strangers. With a confident handler he can be the absolute best companion, but it is imperative that he is with a family who knows how to have a balanced relationship with him. His new home should have structure and clear boundaries about his interactions with people outside his circle. Homes with children 16 or over would be ok for Ranger.
