Well, hello! My name’s Copper and I’m a good old southern hound mix. I was a stray dog that came from a shelter in Madera, and I was adopted through Rocket Dog Rescue in January 2010. I love my new family; I’m super attached, and crave lots of affection. When I want love, I’ll try my hardest to look as cute as possible, with my big golden eyes looking into yours in hopes of some undivided attention. I have a bounce in my step that rivals Tigger, and I love to play with my canine buddy Bailey and with my family. When I play, I play hard, and when I rest, I love to snuggle with Bailey and my humans. When I’m asleep I leave the tip of my pink tongue hanging out of my mouth, so you know how super cute I am. And when it’s time for bed at night, I curl up with Bailey and Nate (my 15-year-old human) on Nate’s bed. I love food, and am super motivated by yummy treats. I’m super social, and like to play with other dogs. I get walked often, and I’m always tempted to visit with all of the other dogs on my route. I just really like making friends! I’m so happy in my new home, and I tell my humans everyday how much I love them!
AND, My name is Bailey and I’m a black and tan coon hound that came from a shelter in Madera with my friend Copper. My owners dropped me off there and said to go ahead and euthanize me. I’m so lucky that Rocket Dog Rescue saved me and that I was adopted in January 2010, along with my friend from the same shelter, Copper. I’m so soft that I feel like I’m made out of velvet. I’m quiet and dignified much of the time, but when I’m feeling playful, I’m a force to be reckoned with. Copper likes to think he can be the boss of me because he outweighs me, but he’s wrong! I nip at his legs and annoy him to get back at him. It’s all in good fun, and we are great buddies with a strong connection. We can often be found sharing a dog bed, snuggled up together. At night, I curl into a ball with Copper and my human, Nate, on Nate’s bed. In the morning, I refuse to get out of bed until I hear the clang of my food hit my dog bowl. Only then is it worth my while to leave my comfy bed. I love to go on walks, and behave like a gentleman, occasionally stopping to sniff the trail of small creatures that live in ivy patches. I sure would like to get my hands on them! I have a really good life. I’m so thankful that Rocket Dog rescued me and that my family adopted me–I really love them!…
